In November the Zlín Congress Centre welcomes Pretty Yende, the world-renowned vocal artist, grande dame and one of the most highly acclaimed operatic performers whose perfect singing voice shone through even at her triumphant debut at the New York Metropolitan Opera, since when she has made regular appearances at the most prestigious venues around the world.
Given her unquestionable talent, it is no surprise that music critics and the general public alike call Pretty Yende a real jewel of the current classical music scene.
Tonight the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic will be accompanying her in selected arias from operas by Donizetti, Rossini, Verdi, Gounod and Herbert. The Orchestra is conducted by the Spaniard Diego García Rodríguez, who has very successfully studied and produced a whole series of symphonic and opera works not only in Spain, but also in Macedonia, Poland and the Czech Republic.
This exceptional November concert featuring a renowned opera singer and also a charismatic conductor is another of the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic's gifts to itself and to all music fans to mark its 75th anniversary.
