Our international Talentinum festival for young concert artists provides a regular opportunity for up-and-coming musicians to gain the invaluable skills of playing with a full-scale symphony orchestra and showcasing their own performing ability. This international event, which began here in May 1972 when Zlín was called Gottwaldov, has established itself as a regular fixture and has become part and parcel of the local cultural scene Over the past half-century it has played host to a whole series of outstanding musicians, and May 2024 marks its 27th season.
So it is that in the concluding concert of this subscription series, it is three talented young musicians gracing the podium of the Congress Centre, and they are Klára Klánská, Jakub William Gráf and David Paša, with the orchestra conducted by Alena Hron. Tonight’s programme features Mozart’s third violin concerto, Shostakovich’s first cello concerto, and Rautavaara’s Incantation for percussion.
