This evening's soloists will be no strangers to our listeners, having made several previous appearances in Zlín either in solo recitals or accompanied by the orchestra. Benjamin Loeb, who comes from Texas, is a conductor, piano accompanist, soloist, arranger and teacher. His recent activity has included concerts highlighting works by Beethoven and Bruckner, and he has also been making recordings with the renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma. He currently heads up the Quad City Symphony Orchestra in Davenport, and in the summer months he directs the Interrnational Conducting Workshop and Festival in Zlín. SusanLoretteDunn, an Australian, moved to the USA in 2002 where her main focus is concert recital, musical and production work.MartinBzirský has been the cello concertmaster with the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic since 2007. He recently gave acclaimed solo performances of the Elgar and Dvořák concertos with the orchestra.
