There's nothing like the unique accompaniment of our symphony orchestra to the smash hits from the world's best musicals of the last few decades to get you in the mood and realise that you know all these numbers already. No need to head off to Broadway or to London's theatre land, because the unforgettable musical hits of Claude-Michel Schönberg, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Frank Wildhorn and others have come to us! Tonight we'll be hearing show-stoppers like Don't Cry for Me Argentina, Buenos Aires (Evita), All I Ask of You (Phantom of the Opera) and Memories (Cats).
Appearing in this concert by the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic under the baton of the young Ostrava-based conductor Marek Prášil are three holders of the Thalia Prize for outstanding musical achievement. They are Petr Gazdík from the Brno Municipal Theatre, Hana Fialová from the Moravian-Silesian National Theatre, and Tomáš Savka. They will be joined by the young up-and-coming star Silvia Holečková.
