FBM AT EXPO 22 IN DUBAI

FBM AT EXPO 22 IN DUBAI

The Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra has notched up another very interesting highlight in its 75th anniversary year by securing an engagement to perform in spring 2022 as part of the Expo 2020 World Exhibition currently taking place in Dubai in the UAE.

The Orchestra will be represented by a string chamber orchestra and a brass group in repeated performances in front of the Czech Pavilion as part of the Expo's National Day of the Czech Republic on 21st March 2022. While the specific programme of music is still being worked out with the Expo organisers, it is certain to be highly eclectic, taking in other genres as well as classical music, such as folk music and pop.

"All the musicians going to Dubai are really looking forward to performing at the Expo", says the Zlín Philharmonic Director Josef Němý. "It will be an extraordinary experience to represent our city and our region at the world exhibition".
