TALENTINUM 2024

TALENTINUM 2024

Zlín’s Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra has a long record of involvement in a number of arts projects supporting budding talented musicians at the start of their professional career. Among the most interesting of these is our Talentinum international festival of young concert artists for performers up to the age of 26 and conductors up to 30.

Talentinum came into being in what was then Gottwaldov in 1972, since when it has become a regular fixture on the local cultural scene, welcoming in the past 50-plus years many talented young musicians from all over the world, not just from Europe, but also Brazil, Japan, South Korea, Canada, Cuba and the USA. Many of these have gone on to become leading lights in the world of music, such as Václav Hudeček, Gabriela Demeterová, Dalibor Karvay, Josef Špaček, Petr Nouzovský, Jakub Hrůša and Tomáš Netopil.

Late April and early May 2024 sees Talentinum staging its 27th season, with the opening night on 18th April welcoming to the Congress Centre four teenage prodigies who are the  national winners of the Virtuosos V4+ European talent TV show from the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Hungary.

Tuesday 7th May marks the first time that the colORCHESTRA project has been staged in Zlín, showcasing young artists from Latvia, Sweden, the USA and Armenia, selected by audition from candidates from all over the world. On this occasion it features performances on the flute, violin, bassoon and by the human voice.

The Congress Centre concerts on 16th and 23rd May then focus on musical hopefuls from this country, when the Philharmonic Orchestra accompanies Teodor Lukšík (piano), Marek Pavlica (violin), Rafal Kleszcz (clarinet), Filip Urban (conductor), David Paša (drums), Klára Klánská (violin), Jakub William Gráf (cello) and Alena Hron (conductor).

Come along and see these talented young musicians as they head into a bright future in the world of music!
